WHO THESE TERMS APPLY TO

These terms and conditions apply to all individuals who purchase tickets to, attend or participate in Once Upon Con, including any optional add-ons, workshops, intensives, assessments or related experiences, and/or the SLVR Children’s Book Awards & Gala, collectively presented by Little Ivory Haus™ (ABN: 59 602 478 829).

By purchasing a ticket, booking an optional add-on, entering the awards and/or attending either event, you agree to the following:

ONCE UPON CON & OPTIONAL ADD-ONS

1. Tickets & Optional Add-Ons

All ticket sales and optional add-on purchases are final and non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the organiser.

Tickets and optional add-ons are non-transferable and valid only for the event, session and date specified at the time of purchase.

Optional add-ons may include workshops, manuscript assessments, portfolio reviews, intensives, networking sessions, photoshoots or other special experiences. Availability is limited and subject to change.

Little Ivory Haus™ reserves the right to modify, reschedule or cancel optional add-ons if required due to unforeseen circumstances.

2. Age Requirement

Once Upon Con, all optional add-ons and the SLVR Children’s Book Awards Gala are strictly 18+ events.

Children and minors are not permitted to attend under any circumstances.

3. Photography, Filming & Media Consent

By attending Once Upon Con and any optional add-ons, you consent to being photographed, filmed or recorded during the event.

These materials may be used by Little Ivory Haus™ for promotional, educational or marketing purposes, including but not limited to social media, website content, email marketing, advertising and future event promotion.

No payment or compensation will be provided for the use of your image or likeness.

4. Guest Speakers, Sessions & Program Changes

While every effort is made to deliver the event program as advertised, all speakers, presenters, sessions, workshops and optional add-ons are subject to change without notice due to unforeseen circumstances.

No refunds, discounts or compensation will be provided in the event of speaker, presenter or schedule changes.

5. Payment Plans

We’re happy to offer payment plans to make attendance more accessible.

All payments must be paid in full no later than 14 days prior to the event (by 2 October 2026 unless otherwise stated).

If payment plans are not completed by the due date, tickets and/or optional add-ons may be cancelled and offered to someone on the waitlist. No refunds will be issued for incomplete payments.

If you are experiencing issues with your payments or need to update your details, please contact us as soon as possible.

6. Virtual Ticket Access & Usage

Virtual ticket access includes digital recordings, presentations and related materials from Once Upon Con.

Access will be available for 14 days from the date access is granted unless otherwise specified.

All virtual ticket content is the intellectual property of Little Ivory Haus™ and its respective speakers or contributors.

This content is provided for personal viewing only and must not be copied, downloaded, recorded, reproduced, distributed or shared in any form, including but not limited to uploading, streaming or public display, without prior written consent from Little Ivory Haus™.

Due to the digital nature of this product, no refunds, exchanges or extensions will be offered once access has been granted.

Little Ivory Haus™ reserves the right to revoke access without notice if any misuse, sharing or unauthorised reproduction of content is detected.

SLVR CHILDREN’S BOOK AWARDS & GALA

7. Award Entries & Eligibility

All award entry fees and gala ticket purchases are final and non-refundable unless the event is cancelled by the organiser.

Entries are non-transferable and valid only for the category and year selected at the time of purchase.

Entrants are responsible for ensuring that their submission meets all eligibility requirements outlined on the official awards website and entry information.

Little Ivory Haus™ reserves the right to reject, remove or reassign any entry that does not meet the stated eligibility criteria or category requirements.

8. Judging & Finalist Process

All judging decisions are final and no correspondence, feedback or discussion regarding judging outcomes will be entered into.

All entries undergo an initial eligibility and quality review before being passed to the judging panel.

Shortlisted and finalist books may be reviewed by independent judges in both digital and printed form.

If selected as a finalist, entrants may be required to provide printed copies of their book by the nominated deadline.

Unless prepaid return postage is supplied, physical copies submitted for judging may be retained by judges, donated or used for display purposes at the Awards Gala.

9. AI Generated Content

Books entered into categories other than the Wildcard Category must not contain AI-generated illustrations.

By entering the awards, entrants confirm that all information provided regarding the creation of the book is truthful and accurate.

Little Ivory Haus™ reserves the right to reject or remove any entry found to contain undisclosed AI-generated content or misleading information.

10. Promotional Permission

By entering the SLVR Children’s Book Awards, entrants grant Little Ivory Haus™ permission to use submitted book titles, cover images, author names, illustrator names and related promotional materials for marketing, publicity and awards-related purposes.

This includes but is not limited to social media, website content, press releases, signage, advertising, email communications and future event promotion.

No payment or compensation will be provided for the use of these materials.

11. Awards Gala Attendance

The SLVR Children’s Book Awards Gala is an 18+ event.

Finalists are strongly encouraged to attend in person, however if a finalist or winner is unable to attend, they may nominate a representative to accept on their behalf.

Little Ivory Haus™ must be notified in advance if a representative will be attending in place of the finalist or winner.

GENERAL TERMS

12. Personal Belongings & Submitted Materials

All attendees are responsible for their own personal belongings during the event.

Little Ivory Haus™ accepts no liability for any lost, stolen or damaged items, including books, promotional materials or merchandise brought to or submitted for the event.

Entrants are responsible for ensuring adequate postage time for all physical book submissions. Little Ivory Haus™ is not responsible for items delayed, lost or damaged in transit.

13. Health & Safety

All attendees must comply with venue rules, health regulations and any directions given by event staff or venue management.

If you are feeling unwell, we ask that you consider your health and the wellbeing of other attendees before attending.

Little Ivory Haus™ reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any attendee whose behaviour is considered unsafe, inappropriate, disruptive or harmful to others.

14. Event Ownership & Intellectual Property

Once Upon Con and the SLVR Children’s Book Awards are proudly owned and hosted by Little Ivory Haus™.

All event branding, educational materials, recordings, graphics, templates and related intellectual property remain the property of Little Ivory Haus™ or the respective contributors and may not be reproduced, distributed or used commercially without written permission.

Little Ivory Haus™ reserves the right to update or amend these terms and conditions at any time and will notify attendees of any significant changes.
