I have a collection of fancy notebooks, but I'm too scared to write in them
I can recite entire scenes from my favourite movies, but I forget why I walked into a room.
I may seem confident, but deep down, I’m just a professional-level overthinker.
I have a super close family, and we’re all great friends (yes, we even go on holidays together voluntarily!). ❤️

Founded in 2021 by award-winning children’s book author Laura Feldman, Little Ivory Haus has grown from a single book into Australia’s most trusted hub for children’s picture-book creators.
Based in Ballarat, Victoria, the company specialises in empowering everyday people to become published authors, giving parents, teachers, artists and storytellers the tools to write, publish and market their own books with confidence.
Laura is the author of several bestselling titles and a recognised leader in the self-publishing space. Her approach is practical, transparent and community-driven, aiming to demystify an industry that is often gatekept and overwhelming for first-time creators.
Through her free classes and online training, she has taught more than 20,000 aspiring authors worldwide and more than 2,000 writers have enrolled in her flagship Self Publishing a Children’s Book Program, many going on to publish successful titles of their own.
Little Ivory Haus is built on the belief that children deserve stories that reflect their lived experiences. The business is deeply committed to literacy, inclusion and representation, supporting diverse voices, neurodivergent creators, First Nations storytellers, culturally diverse families and individuals who may never have considered themselves “authors” before. Little Ivory Haus program and services are designed to foster creative confidence, raise childhood literacy outcomes and ensure important stories reach young readers everywhere.
In addition to education and mentorship, Little Ivory Haus organises professional development events for independent authors and illustrators (and those who aspire to be), including Once Upon Con, a national conference dedicated to children’s book creators.
Planned from the Ballarat headquarters and held in Melbourne, the event brings together authors, illustrators, publishers, educators and other industry experts to share knowledge, build networks and celebrate independent storytelling.
Through local partnerships, online programs and hands-on support, Little Ivory Haus continues to champion Australian creativity and uplift voices that traditional publishing often overlooks.

I’m a bestselling children’s book author, publishing coach, and the founder of Little Ivory Haus, where I help aspiring authors turn their picture book dreams into reality!
I live in country Victoria with my husband and two kids.
My journey started in 2021 with my first book, Lockdown Baby and since then, I’ve been on a mission to help bridge the gap for creatives who want to publish a book but don't know how.
With a growing community of 2000+ passionate creatives and HUNDREDS of books in progress each year, Little Ivory Haus is all about making self-publishing fun, accessible and empowering.
I believe that everyone has a story worth sharing and I love proving that publishing a book isn’t just possible... it’s life-changing!
When I'm not doing "author things", I love to go camping with the fam (preferably somewhere warmer than Ballarat!), hang out at home or make stuff (I'm a fiend for any kind of crafty or creative hobby!).
