Meet The Author
Elisa Emmett
Hello, I'm Elisa and I live in a little suburb called Priestdale in Qld.
I am a volunteer facilitator for Play Matters. I have two horses that I ride, two Kelpie dogs, ducks, chickens and a cat… some of them are in my book.
I live on acreage and have three grown-up children. I love being outdoors.
Why I wrote my book
I took some classes on Key Word Sign when I had my Family Home Day while looking after some children with speech delays. When my great niece Jordan had speech delays, I taught her and the family some of the basic Key Word Signs.
My sister, Jordan's grandmother, found she had trouble connecting with Jordan as there weren't any children's books she could sit down and read and connect with her. I wrote my KWS book so family, friends and carers can learn KWS with their children together.
